Kemi Badenoch elected new leader of the Conservative Party

First black person to hold that role, succeeding Rishi Sunak, the first non-white leader.

Stand by for the ironic spectacle of the daughter of immigrants arguing for the dismantling of our immigration system 🙃

She says she will offer shadow cabinet positions to all her defeated rivals. Given the size of the parliamentary party, she probably has no other choice . .

Cleverly already said before the result he'd not accept any frontbench position. Jeremy Hunt too. There's a few clearly aiming to clear the decks and either take on lucrative second jobs or if Labour ban that as they promised then they'll resign as mps before next election.

I think it's going to be a bloodbath.

Whoever wins will want to assert their authority.

That means either selecting those they feel have 'influence' within the different factions of the party.
Or they'll deliberately snub and exclude and attempt to isolate those currently occupying those positions.

For the results of what happens when you do that, see Boris Johnson's cabinet.

And the fourth woman. Who cares about any of that, except you and your like?
