is it true that many british people are leaving the uk

like an exodus? i saw a few people in the sidebar on youtube, british people who said they are leaving britain for good because britain has turned into a dystopia.....i commented on one of those videos and said if you can't stand by your country then good riddence.

what do you think? is it true that many are leaving the country? white flight? or is it fake news?

And where are they supposedly going? Moving to Portugal and Greece to push prices of properties up there?

You'd find this narration, just like butthurt comments like yours, for every country on Youtube.

@CrazyMusicLover I don't know why I'm involving myself tbh, just nothing better to do I suppose 😅 Again, not to speak for the OP but I thinkhe is more concerned by the reasons people want to leave, rather than where they might go or the impact they have. I think I broadly agree with you (and him), if you go anywhere it should be to contribute and within rules and expectations that don't have negative impact to the host country.

When that doesn't happen, it's devastatingly disruptive and damaging.

@helsbels Yeah, I'm curious about the reasons too because I know about people who still come to UK for reasons like better pay or more liberal political environment. If the cost of living is a problem then I'm not sure how does it work for people coming in from poorer countries when even locals who might have inherited a family property struggle. That might suggest that foreigners have some benefits that locals don't. Or maybe expats are not planning to stay there, just tolerate living in bad conditions while earning more money and then coming back home where they'll be able to afford more. That's also an option.

@CrazyMusicLover listen, don't try to dictate to me, i'm british and believe in standing by britain if you're british.

They typically go en masse in exodus to Benidorm during the summer, then go back to their natural rainy habitat during the winter 🥴

British people are always leaving... I'm in Oz and we received bucket loads of them after WW2.... Just people at that time looking for a better life...

No, it is not true. And if it were, why would this be a "white flight"?

What is true, however, is that the annual death rate has exceeded the birth rate for the first time in 50 years (not counting the Covid period). Happily, a positive net immigration flow has ensured that population levels remain stable and we can continue to support the growing ranks of ageing citizens in our society.

@SunshineGirl the idea that white british people are disillusioned with the country and are leaving en masse, thats what white flight means? i am white british myself but stand by my own country.

and also controlled immigration is fine, not mass uncontrolled migration which is what we have now.

I wouldn't leave England, but I'd leave London in an instant if I had a chance.

First I've heard of it, but it's their choice. I wouldn't leave myself for any reason.
