She did awful things but was very successful on her own terms. Like Republicans use Reagan and Lincoln as benchmarks (or did), British Conservatives use Thatcher and Winston Churchill.

@bijouxbroussard she's still revered by many. She was the PM as we emerged from the largely economically awful 70s bug she smashed many things she put every one of my family (bar one) out of work at a single stroke so I can never forgive her. I personally loath her with a deep seated passion.
I'd argue much of our problems, brexit, housing crisis, crumbling infrastructure due to lack of investment, no coordination across many policy areas etc can be directly linked to her leadership. We're still suffering as a result of her Europhobia, council house sell off and privatisation neoliberalism.
