@1954zebedee Good Friday agreement, minimum wage, tax credits, lifting millions of children out of poverty through wealth redistribution, free museum entry.

He was also a conviction politician with genuine belief in what he was doing and a rare charisma. For a few blessed years the country was united by optimism.

I did not agree with the uncritical alliance he made with USA and I was appalled by the manipulation of intelligence to secure support for the war. But a politician must be judged by his whole career.

@SunshineGirl The last thing any country needs is a politician with charisma.

@ninalanyon From what I understand, it was a necessary re-requisite for him to be able to take the country in a radically different direction. Gordon Brown was the more intelligent half of the partnership, but lacked personal leadership qualities.

@SunshineGirl good Friday agreement happened during his tenure but it was John Major who paved the way. Blair took the credit. Nothing else can possibly outweigh his war crimes.
