A political dilemma in the UK

The Tories treat the British public as commodities.

Labour policies offer little, and it’s leader is a bore.

Genuine question.....why vote?
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@gol979 If you don’t vote then you have absolutely nothing to say about the political situation
But people unfortunately always vote for the same party and not the people
Looking to be elected
gol979 · 41-45, M
@Strictmichael75 if i dont vote i can still voice my opinions. Again, why vote?
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@gol979 y disagree, it’s a civic right to vote
Not voting gives you no right to criticize
SW-User
@gol979 The political classes would love that. If we don’t vote they have won!

We fought long and hard in the nineteenth century to get the vote. And only in 1928 were women fully franchised. Even today they try to take the vote away from the homeless, by demanding identification.

@Strictmichael75 if i dont vote i can still voice my opinion. And you still arent answering the question. Why vote?
gol979 · 41-45, M
@SW-User "the political class". So you agree, theres no difference. If we all didnt vote, they lose. How will the political class govern over you with no consent. Why vote?
SW-User
[@gol9 If you don’t vote you acquiesce with their corruption. You tacitly accept the status quo.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@SW-User thats inverted. If you vote you are giving your tacit consent to whoever "wins" to rule over you. At this point in time, what difference will it make if you vote red, blue, green or yellow?
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@gol979 Not worth replying to you!
SW-User
@gol979 My local MP has stated openly that people with learning difficulties should get less than the minimum wage. On that issue alone I will vote.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@gol979 it’s too difficult for yoj to understand unfortunately
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@gol979 If you don’t vote shows you are not interested in your country
An easy way out
gol979 · 41-45, M
@SW-User you dont need to vote to say thats a disgusting point of view and also if you play the game of voting and that mp gets in, you have consented
gol979 · 41-45, M
@Strictmichael75 fair enough. Still didnt answer the question though
SW-User
@gol979 She has a wafer thin majority. Just talking to her will not change her mind!
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@gol979 gol979 If you don’t vote shows you are not interested in your country
An easy way out
gol979 · 41-45, M
@SW-User that is a genuine reason. I wont get into the differences (or lack of) in policies depending on what colour/team it is....but she sounds like a particularly nasty piece of work
gol979 · 41-45, M
@Strictmichael75 so if you vote you are interested in your country? Whatever that means. Anyway, the question still stands, barring sloganised vagueness
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@gol979 Because if you dont the b@$tArd$ in power will thing its OK to go on doing what they have been doing..😷
gol979 · 41-45, M
@whowasthatmaskedman you give the b****** power when you vote
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@gol979 So always vote against the guy who is "in"😷
gol979 · 41-45, M
@whowasthatmaskedman makes no sense but i suppose its an answer
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@gol979 voice all the opinion you like. It's what social media was created for, but it's not influential and determines nothing
gol979 · 41-45, M
@Picklebobble2 another comment but still no answer.
