I thought of going to see the King's Coronation, but I remembered Diana and I refrained.

Charles was always smitten by Camilla, but Queen and Prince Phillip did not want that relationship.

Charles obeyed them reluctantly, and then met Diana, who had Royal Approval. He and Diana behaved badly in their relationship, I don't know or care who started it and separated.

Diana sadly died in a car crash. At that point, there was no possibility of her being Queen. From when the relationship broke down there was no possibility of her being Queen.

Yeah it kind of ticked me off seeing Camilla sitting were Diana should of been. Cheers!
Problem is with Diana no one knew the whole truth of what actually was going on just like in many other relationships, a few Army officers at the time did not speak kindly of her so that tells you something of the goings on.
There's only one Queen of England now...

@HootyTheNightOwl I too wanted to change my profile pic to honour her memory.
I was too young when she passed away but the impact of her work is so powerful that even I can feel that.
@Riemann I did mine more in protest.

They always said that Camilla was going to be Queen Consort - which she technically is (because she is not of the Royal bloodline) but it would have been nice to see the "Consort" part of the title highlighted more in the likes of the coronation invitations.

The Royal family is a big part of our history - and I think that it's important to highlight the consorts... Prince Phillip had it clearly marked that he was not King - he remained a Prince his entire life... so, why are the Queens any different???

And, yes, I would have still wanted that differentiation if Diana was made Queen Consort instead. For me, I think that it's important to make it clear which is of Royal descent and which is not simply because the Royal family tree can make for confusing reading at times - especially as time goes on and you're really digging into the family history.

She died 26 years ago! I think we’ve moved on.

@JoeXP We need to learn from history.

Diana was not treated well, but she would nevwr have been queen.

If she was still alive i wonder what would have been her title. She was the Princess of Wales and they would not have been able to remove that until William became king and she would be known as the King's Mother.
Charles would not have been able to marry Camilla and she certainly could not become queen
