I don't really support either side. That being said I really don't like the Ukrainian/American bioweapons labs in Ukraine cooking up the next more deadly pandemic. The US really has to get its act together and clean house domestically. What the hell is Fauci doing collecting a wage when he should be in front of a firing squad.

@hippyjoe1955 Oh, and by the way............
https://edition.cnn.com/2022/03/28/politics/fact-check-ukraine-edmonton-firefighter-lviv/index.html
"The "EDMONTON" coat was donated to firefighters in Ukraine by firefighters in Edmonton. An Edmonton-based nonprofit called Firefighter Aid Ukraine has donated "several hundred" sets of Edmonton turnout gear to Ukraine, plus hundreds of additional sets of turnout gear from other communities, founder and project director Kevin Royle, an Edmonton firefighter himself, told CNN on Sunday. The coat seen on CNN "came from our program, most definitely," Royle said. And there is no doubt that Russia attacked the Lviv fuel facility; its defense ministry publicly confirmed the strike on Sunday.
Founded in 2015, Firefighter Aid Ukraine has supported Lviv firefighters for years. On Monday, the nonprofit resurfaced a photo it had originally posted on Facebook in 2017 -- of its team in Lviv handing out a coat that said "EDMONTON" on the back, just like the one seen on CNN on Saturday. Canadian broadcasters CBC and Global News ran stories in 2017 about this Firefighter Aid Ukraine donation trip."

@room101 Thank you very much for digging out the facts!!
As we suspected, dippyjoe was DEAD WRONG when he tried to claim CNN was using photos of an Edmonton fire and mislabeling them.
Pssssttt @hippyjoe1955, CNN is about 1000000 times more reliable than you!!

To the "neither" folks, remember that in an unbalanced relationship (and last time I checked, Russia is a tad more resourceful than Ukraine, especially militarily; and that Russia initiated the conflict) alleged neutrality equates to siding with the strongest/oppressor side, in this case Putin.
Either have the balls to admit you support a genocide, or avoid playing a card that not even Switzerland, that played that card for centuries, is considering appropriate for this situation.

@bijouxbroussard I don't think it's even a matter of "not knowing" in the first place; but besides, it's the political equivalent of witnessing a murder and not doing anything because they claim they don't know what are the reasons of the murderer.
bijouxbroussard · F
@Elessar With whom are you more annoyed, the people who are saying "neither" or the ones saying "Russia" ?

Dude. This is Russian propaganda BS. Ukraine DOES have biological research facilities (NOT bioweapons) and the US IS supporting them. And yes, they DO contain dangerous pathological agents. This is known because the WHO is urging Ukraine to destroy any highly dangerous agents to avoid the risk of an outbreak should one of the labs be hit by Russian forces.
BTW, US funding to the laboratories had its roots in the fall of the Soviet Union, after which money was pumped into Ukraine and other countries to help them transfer scientific skills away from weapons towards public health.
It was originally known as Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) but is now more commonly referred to as biological engagement and has helped the former Soviet countries fulfill public health obligations. The Ukrainian labs work on surveillance of diseases in animals and people as an early warning system for illnesses such as African swine fever, which is endemic there.
In summary: Ukraine has US-funded bioresearch facilities and NO bioweapons.
Senator Rubio said reports that Russia had, “uncovered a plot by the Ukrainians to unleash biological weapons in the country, and with NATO’s coordination,” were propaganda. Then Nuland went on to say that “it is a classic Russian technique to blame the other guy for what they are planning to do themselves.”

It's hard not to side with Ukraine, we can all empathise surely with not wanting our country invaded against our will.

Squarely with the Ukraine.
Dictators are all bad news. The fact that this one has a good rep with a certain political demographic in the US makes no difference.

I'm just waiting for more exposure of Ukraine Hype. Meanwhile I have to go with Putin side. Call me a Criminal supporter or whatever anyone's imagination spewing against me but Putin had enough with these Globalist's Elites in Europe. It's time to clean house and I really hope He can completely destroy NATO. Restore Europe to it's Rightful place for the People only. That is my wish but who knows what's next.

@SW-User Aw cool, you read Wikipedia and are now an expert. Amazing that a battalion of 900-2500 (of which 10-20% could realistically be called Nazi’s according to your source) in a military of over 200,000 is now reason enough to invade a sovereign state and mercilessly kill civilians? Are you sure that’s the argument you want to make?
You realise every far right party in Ukraine who has ever stood for election has had absolutely awful results - mostly never reaching the threshold to gain a single seat. Somehow that makes Ukraine “far right” and in the need to be “denazified”?
The Putin Propaganda machine has worked wonders on you.

@SW-User The Wikipedia comes with numerous citations. You can always click on those links which can take you to the appropriate news articles. Ironically, it's US Congress which banned Azov which zekenskly supports frantically. I don't think your opinion holds more value than US Congress which pretty much passed a bill to stop arming UKr Nazis.
What you believe holds no value to me. I just gave some factual data. Perhaps, you should give some kind of genuine article to dismiss Azov isn't Nazis. this is why Israel isn't really voicing in favour of ukr.
I mean Ukr ideologies Stepan Bandera. Lol
Anyway have fun.

@SW-User You didn’t make a point there.
No one is saying there aren’t people with Nazi ideologies within the Azov battalion - there are. But to claim that an incredibly small % of Nazi proponents is somehow reason enough to invade a country and murder its populous is outrageous.
As stated, Ukraine has been in opposition to far-right parties, evident in electoral results since Euromaidan in 2014. There are EU states with actual far-right influences (Poland and Hungary for instance).
And for Russia, who has anti-LGBT, nationalist, and ultra-traditionalist values, who have signed cooperation agreements with far-right parties in Italy and Austria due to “shared values”, to dare accuse another country of harbouring Nazi ideology… I mean, it’s a bad joke.
