The Earthquake In Turkey Is Bad Enough But There Is Something Said Even Worse….

Ataturk Dam, the third-largest dam in the entire world is said by witnesses heavily damaged. They are evacuating the area downstream.

I am hoping and praying for the normal, everyday people of Turkey who are now homeless in the middle of winter, who have no heat, no running water, and no food. I hope and pray that ALL who remain alive continue to survive...they don't need even one more thing to go wrong right now.

@cherokeepatti Of course it's not safe to burn wood in an enclosed tent, but we used to have a tent heater that worked safely. We used to cold weather camp, because at that time, I had two dogs and I wanted to let them run free with no leashes for once in their lives.

@4meAndyou It is safe and other campers are doing it. It is a tiny wood stove. If someone is worried about CO2 they can get a battery-powered CO2 detector. Much safer than freezing to death.

@cherokeepatti Yeah, that's what I would worry about...although I have seen ice fishing shacks and even yurts with a hole in the roof and a small pipe vent covered with a cone of tin.

We’re privileged to exist on this earth, we cannot expect it to be easy or without dealing with what earth does naturally

@AlchemyFox oh really? This may not have been a “natural” event.

Let's hope Ataturk isn't aimed at a Turk
Since it probably won't kill anyone, I'm not sure how it could be worse

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP they are depending on that water for agriculture and other uses not to mention a flood downstream which could devastate the area.
