With Assad taking Asylum with Russia , will Putin have any of his military come out of Syria? This is especially an important point as he does have a naval base in Syria.
It's possibly Putin's Afghanistan. Billions spent, lives lost, and ultimate defeat to Al Qaeda-affiliated faction. Russia is already playing down the defeat, saying Assad "negotiated" this situation, as if he was in control instead of fleeing for his life. Nobody knows what will happen. If they claim they do know, they really don't.

@DallasCowboysFan Curre as reports indicate there are about 900 US troops in Syria. Personally I hope if they’re not pulled out by Biden, Trump does it.
@ididntknow My post wasn’t about American forces. I commented because Assad is gone and these rebel groups might be ok with Russian forces or they may not. New sheriff in town in Syria. Assad is out.
@ididntknow Because with US forces scattered all over, they cannot be taken out with a single nuke. A smart move. Also the countries where they are situated are better protected, its win/win.
