Russian troop training vs Ukraine troop training.

All the recent news about Putins announcement. Here how the two sides measure up regarding troop trusting.

Ukraine has 10,000 civilians going through military training in the UK in groups of around 200 over a 4 week course with army and artillery instructors covering
Field medics, field artillery, clearing buildings, assaults etc
At the end they get helmets and bullet proof vests before returning to Ukraine.
Ukraine is fighting for its life.

Russia has 300,000 civilians, none of whom want to fight.
They get 5 days training with an AK47. Limited ammo and then onto the battle field with faulty weapons and no logistical support.

The Russian army has degenerated into a Artillery Army.. They just smash a city by hitting it with tens of thousands of artillery shells then they send in their troops who do not want to fight to occupy the rubble.. They move the artillery forward and send in another 10,000 shells on the next town of village.. Wash and repeat and repeat and repeat.. That's why Putin has run to North Korea with his cap in hand begging for a million artillery shells from the fat boy Kim...

I do feel bound to mention this Russian call up is of ex military service people, Mostly conscripts who have completed compulsory service.. So thinking of them as Reservists or national guard might be appropriate. That doesnt mean they are any more motivated or better trained or equiped.. But they are not raw recruits..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Raw recruits maybe not but troops are only as good as their logistical support and Russias has proven to be shit.

@whowasthatmaskedman not sure I could do a ten mile hike like back when I was fourth much less when I was seventeen. Just putting my shorts on is a chore. Can you imagine all of the snoring in a barricks? Plus if they were in the military chances they have back and joint problems. The service is pretty good at using people up before they get out. And, being older they can think for themselves. Taking orders is not going to go down well.

@justanothername @Tastyfrzz I am totally happy to admit the shortcomings of the men themselves, plus their support and equipment. The whole thing smacks to me of desperation by Putin. And why on earth would you broadcast such a move if it wasnt a desperate act more for show than for go..? Maybe Putin is due to have an unfortunate accident soon. We can only hope.

All flights out of the country are sold out for the foreseeable future

at most Russia has weapons' for 150,000 and it may take 6 months at best before they can be deployed. Secret paragraph 7 allows up to 1 million troops, but I doubt Russia can afford it.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Khenpal1 Does that include winter clothing?
Khenpal1 · M
@Tastyfrzz It incudes that they have no place to sleep inside and you ask for winter clothing 😉
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Khenpal1 socks?
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Do they at least get a belt with red and yellow flags and dogtags?

Since 2014 the British forces have been training the Ukrainians, thats why when the Russians went in at the start they got a big surprise.
