It is interesting that all of Putin's red lines revolve around the impact on public sentiment within Russia

I get the impression that if he could just wipe Ukraine off the map, he'd do so, but the Russian people would not accept that. Basically he is bound to what Russian society will accept and that's why his actions still have to somewhat fit his stated goals of liberation

Well, the revolution wasn’t that long ago there, and he knows going too far means the people won’t stop until he and the rest of the government have fallen. The Russian people will take a lot, but only to a point.

Many of the Russian people believe the propaganda coming out of the Kremlin.
