Gaza is at a point of no return

85% of the population is in 5th stage of malnutrition. That's just over half a million. This stage is irreversible even if food became available in the future. We're talking brain damage/cognitive impairment, permanent changes in their DNA and of course death.

The worst thing about it? It’s engineered. A deliberate starvation campaign to punish every man, woman, and child in Gaza. None of this is inevitable. Just a mile away, trucks loaded with food sit idle at the border, denied entry by the IDF and violent settlers. All aid being withheld, a man-made famine, enforced with cruelty.

As a south asian who's ancestors suffered multiple intentional famines, I can tell you the impact of it in multiple generations. We suffer from diabetes and cardiovascular diseases at a much higher rate to this day. I can't believe we've let this happen again. Even with the world calling to save Palestine, it hasn't made any difference. I have no words

I do not condone the killing of innocent citizens. But, Hamas still has kidnapped Israelis and others, started this conflict and could end it in a moment. War is hell, it always results in civilian deaths. At some point though, people have surrender and stop the war
@samueltyler2
1) Characterising genocide as a war doesn't change what's actually happening
2) "end it in a moment" is that why this has been going on before hamas was even a thing?

@HijabaDabbaDoo again, look at what genocide is. Has Israel sworn to eliminate all Muslims, or even all Gazans? Does Hamas not state in their charter the elimination of the state of Israel and all the Jews? Only when both sides agree the other has a right to exist will there ever be a peace. Throwing around ye incorrect term genocide solved nothing!
@samueltyler2 So Israel hasn't expressed a plan to turn Gaza into a holiday paradise after "cleansing" it? The defence minister didn't say that? Is there no apartheid system or an agency authorised to 'deport' Palestinians in occupied territories which breaks the Geneva convention? What about operation Gideon chariots?

And to even question claims as if it's all words when the figures and stats of deaths, illegal settlements and famine haven't been officially recorded by the UN. That's where i can't help you. I can't understand it for you. You can give into your own biases and try to rewrite the actions of Israel from the brutal reality it is, but the rest of the world isn't gonna play pretend with you.

@HijabaDabbaDoo no, that was Trump's statement. You are missing the point, who attacked who on October 6? During that attack who yelled lol the Jews? Who has backed out of every attempt at practice talks? Don't try to divert the question you raised, how can the killing and starvation be stopped? It is obvious, Hamas must put down it's weapons!

@HijabaDabbaDoo you are projecting now. You are predictably defending the slaughter of almost 2,09 innocent lives done in the name of genocide, the avowed desire to kill all Jews.

I stated that the killings are horrible and indefensible in today's times. I do not condone all of Israel's actions. If I did not make that clear, I hope it is now clear. I also am not a Zionist as in any desire to extend territory. If believing that Israel has the right to exist is your definition of a Zionist, then you can call me such. Do you deny that Israel has a right to exist? If we are to have a truly rational discussion let us clearly delineate where we stand!

@samueltyler2 @HijabaDabbaDoo

Samuel,

October 6; it was October 7.

Here is a conservative estimate of the number of deaths: this matches the estimates of multiple sources. The true figure won’t be known until the genocide ends. Doubtlessly bodies will be uncovered in shallow graves etc

“Israel's war on Gaza has killed at least 59,106 people and wounded 142,511. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the October 7, 2023 attacks and more than 200 taken captive.2 days ago”

War is horrible; genocide is evil. There is a difference between hamas and the civilians. Innocent children are dying, starving etc. Aid is being stopped, refugee camps bombarded with minutes of warning. It’s a genocide.

Killing is always wrong. Yes I agree. You have to admit that; 59,106 and 1,139 are two very different numbers. Every death is a tragedy.

The genocide needs to stop. The war-crimes need to be prosecuted. The Palestinians need a safe homeland.
