My cousin is currently in Tuscany, Italy 😄

I wonder if the people there recognize her as one of their own? She was born in the US, yes. But her dad, my uncle, was from Tuscany, so she’s practically Tuscan herself. 🇮🇹

Nope. She’ll be a foreigner. My dad was born and raised in Bermuda and so were generations before him and when I go, I’m still not treated as a real Bermudian I am basically a tourist even to my own cousins

If she can't pronunce the "C" letter like them, she will never blend in. They will immediatly see that she's a foreigner (as in "not born in Tuscany") even if she speaks fluent italian.

She'll still be an American tourist to them. Once you're out of the fold, that's it.

She's American.
