No thank you

@TradEmily, there are over 3,000 religions being practiced on this planet today. But yours just happens to be the right one, and millions of other people are wrong.
I have some questions for you. Who first told you about Santa Claus? Your parents, right? They lied to you about that, didn't they?
Who first told you about the Easter Bunny? Your parents, right? They lied to you about that, didn't they?
Who first told you about the Tooth Fairy? They lied to you about that, didn't they?
Hopefully you can figure the rest out by yourself.

@TradEmily You do realize that both xmas and easter are pagan days of worship..
TradEmily · 26-30, F
@Magicianzini yes I meant Neo-pagan reinterpretations of those holy days. Which btw would have been very holy indeed in ancient times - not just getting some plastic junk and some chocolate.

Religion is a funny thing. People argue and even go to war because they think their own imaginary "God" is better or more real than someone else's.
People are going to believe what they want. It cannot be forced.
I think part of why a lot of people do not truly believe is because church and religion is boring. Doesn't matter if their "God" is God, Allah Snackbar, that guy that handles snakes, or the guy with the big gut.

This is why it’s so important to go to university
Ken4family · 18-21, M
@Waveney I'm enrolled in an Ivy League university and I'm a Christian... just what are you trying to say?? Oh, wait... you're in the Islamic Republic of England, sorry I forgot!
RosaMarie · 46-50, F
The really funny thing is that Islam believes in the roots from Judaism and Christianity. They believe that Mohammed advanced the religion in a similar way that Jesus advanced Judaism to Christianity. Therefore, the same way the Jewish God and the Christian God are the same God with different set of beliefs for its followers, Islam has the same God too. Which makes it wonderfully ironic when you say...
Allah is satan.

This post encapsulates everything I hate about religion.
ThirstenHowl · M
@JimboSaturn but seriously, how is "she" still single after age 18?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@TradEmily Many cultures have ethical codes that developed independently of religion, and human empathy, fairness, and cooperation have evolutionary and social roots. For example, secular societies like Sweden or Japan tend to have lower crime rates and strong moral norms despite being largely non-religious. So no, you don't have to teach anything.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
It's the same god. Allah is Jehovah and Yahweh in another language.
GoFish ·
being free means having choices not having a religion of someone else's choice forced on you .. like right now already existing christians in iran were forced into muslim rule and others too who may have been non religious and whatever else.. the islamic regime would beat and kill men and women for not abiding their rules and they'd imprison and torture and just outright murder those against the regime or anyone who they thought was or their families.. and that's evil fyi
kittee · 26-30
why? how would that help, ideally if israelleft other countries alone, peace would come
ArishMell · 70-79, M
You are of course kidding?
You cannot tell the inhabitants of another country to change their religion and culture to whatever faith you have chosen for yourself!

Hmm . . . what could possibly go wrong with this idea? 🙂
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
I assume that you were home schooled.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@TradEmily The only 'privilege' I had was to be presented with a range of views from a range of people. All of us form our opinions in the same way as you do. I was brought up in a pastor's family and still hold to the truth of that faith. You and I just come to different conclusions as to how that is presented to those of different faiths.
RachelLia2003 · 22-25, F
i support that. crusades is needed and convert them to christian✝

Too many atheists there to ever happen.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I'm sure you do. People like you have always spread Christianity by the sword.
Daviszabecki · 56-60, M
@TradEmily why add Buddhism into it? What has that to do with your line of reasoning?
TradEmily · 26-30, F
@Daviszabecki it's the only other exception
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@TradEmily
you say that as if it's a bad thing.
You're damn right I do! Why do YOU think it's a good thing to force YOUR religion on everyone regardless of whether it works for them? Why are you so insecure in your beliefs that even one of us existing makes you angry?
