@revenant actually, according to some sources, Canada, in general, has been lowering its use of fossil fuels. I don't know specifically about BC. The tax is supposed to be placed at the source, not at the consumer. Of course, it will be factored into the eventual cost to the consumer. I went to a lecture about the concept last year and was impressed by how a small contribution would have a huge effect. I don't remember the specifics, but, I invited the lecturer to give a repeat lecture to a community group in my town. There is a great deal of misunderstanding, and anger, over it which has to be aired and dealt with if we are to anything about saving our future on Planet A.

@samueltyler2 yeah well ask Albertans ! and of course the consumer pays...consumer always pays. Loss of jobs ? no problems ...for utopian ideas which sure take their time to come to tuition and much cronyism. Electricity prices is going through the roof to pay for those ideous windturbines.

@revenant is it really worth my efforts to rebut your comment? The price of electricity has not risen any faster than the cost of everything else. If you think the economy can expand without any inflation, you are kidding yourself. If what you are saying is that we need to have a wider safety net, I agree. The weaker, less suffer more than the more affluent.
