It’s England, it’s Friday night, and I’m sat doing nothing… what happened to my youth?!

Meanwhile 10 years ago I’d have been halfway through getting ready, arguing over whose house we were meeting at for pre drinks, surviving on warm vodka and bad decisions, convinced I’d still feel human the next morning.

Now it’s, Shall I watch another episode? checking the weather, genuinely excited about fresh bedding!!!

Not even upset about staying in either. That’s the worrying part. Somewhere along the line “big Friday night” became finding a decent series and being annoyed if someone messages after 8:30.

How did this happen so fast?

I wondered that the other day when I saw my former work colleague walking in the housing estate I was parked in. Instead of casually getting out of my car and pretending that I was walking my dog and happen to see him. I decided to dip down and hide in my car. I’ve been regretting it ever since. I might never see this person again. We’re only young once and if the opportunity arises to socialise and feel young or alive again then we should take it.

I'd blame it on the Bossa Nova.

@hunkalove Then we should probably switch genres before someone starts dancing on the tables.

Your youth went to sleep

You decided that you were too old and mature to do all that other stuff. Where the danger lies however, is where do you go from this stratum level that you've suddenly landed upon?
Justmemyselfandi1 · 41-45, M
@swirlie Maybe the danger isn’t getting older and wiser, it’s assuming you’ve arrived. Every new level seems to come with another question waiting above it.

We decide if we're too old to hang out in social clubs or not. We are not told when and where to stop attending. Question is, what are we choosing for ourselves each time we decide something?
