I heard several forecasts and none said it would be hot and sunny everywhere every day. They did warn of increasing temperature over the weekend though.

Let alone a universal "heatwave" - a term that has a particular meaning.

My part of the country started cloudy, with mist on high ground, but this cleared to give bright sunshine slightly tempered by a light breeze.

I think they did say rain possible in the North of England and Scotland, but I paid more attention to the South-West.

26 out East Anglia way and it was warmer earlier on

Check the forecast. Today was always shown as cooler (low 20s max) and Scotland and NI were not in the high heat risk area. 19max been showing for W of England for days. Real heat from tomorrow (Sunday).

Politician and the weather bureau both tend to prevaricate at times...

Hot hot hot down the south east coast,garden table umbrella is up,garden loungers are out,ice creams and ice cubes topped up,and BBQ planned today.. Maybe,just maybe,a cooling dip into the sea later too,if feeling brave
