You need to look into the reasons properly before making illinformed opinions.. It has nothing to do with colour or race.. Its against illegal immigrants getting put up in hotels and getting benefits that that the people of this country are paying for.. The government is saying basically come on in you're welcome.. Instead of stay the hell away and go thru the immigration process properly
It's not against legal immigrants or coloured people. Infact many of the videos I've seen have coloured people ''as you call them'' marching side by side flying the flags. I'm not going to explain it to you here. If you are that interested, look into it thoroughly for yourself.
@wishforthenight I didn't say any of that or mean it the way you are saying. You are just making up in ''your'' own mind how ''I'' mean it. You seem very misguided; that's your problem not mine. I have said what I have to say, I do not intend getting into drama with you. You have a nice life, fellow human being.
I see what’s going on now, of course. You’re playing a fun new game called ‘Reverse History.’ First, you tell me about 'coloured people marching side by side flying the flags' (which, by the way, you did mean the Union Jack and England flag, and you know it), and now you're claiming, 'Oh no, I didn’t mean that at all.'
Wow, that was a quick plot twist! I must indeed be a master at reading minds, because I’m somehow able to guess all these different meanings you're pulling out of thin air.
It’s almost like you're trying to make one of those choose your own adventure' stories where the flags keep changing based on how convenient it is for you. But, hey, who needs to stick to what was said earlier when we can just re-write the script mid-conversation, right? 😆
So, to sum up: You said what you said, then tried to act like you didn’t say it, and now we're all just supposed to pretend none of that happened. Sounds like a solid plan. Good luck with that, I'm sure it'll work out great for you. Have a nice life, fellow human being!
@SunshineGirl Yeah you are right, I got mixed up, I was wrong. I watch and read a lot from all sides of the fence, I'm not extreme left or right. It was actually the Australian flag in Australia being burned, that's happened a few times. As I'm sure you know it has the Union Flag on it.
To summarise briefly, some gullible people who accept uncritically anything served to them through their social media feeds, had a little too much time on their hands during the school holidays and thought it would be a good idea to present themselves as victims of a non-existent "establishment" plot to deny them certain rights. In the traditional and time honoured English manner this manifested itself in vandalism of public property 😞
@SunshineGirl That's true, but unfortunately there's no way to tell if people are using the flag because they like the country or because they're using it for racism.
So the better option would be to just use the union jack instead, far right people are just using the England flag
@JJones I have always preferred the union flag because it includes other British nations that I feel connected with. I have no objection to people who like the St George Cross, but it is too closely associated in my mind with exclusion and violence.
@JJones Well I would say the majority. And it's hard to tell whether it's spreading or not. The rightwing media are amplifying it though, that's for sure.
@HootyTheNightOwl Yep exactly. I think these far right losers are trying to scare immigrants with the flag because of the possibility of Reform winning the next election...
