Depends on your definition of hermit.
My dictionary gives a secondary definition of ''any person living solitary''.

I live alone and my Hampshire garden is completely private. During the warm weather of last week, I took advantage of it.

''Bronzage au naturel''

Is the sun out long enough to get a tan in the UK?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@jackson55 Oh yes: I live near a seaside resort, and not ever so far from others, and I am not sure which is the more common sight in these places: the sun-tan or the sun-burn (the latter self-inflicted of course.)

if you have a tanning bed
Does the sun tan have to be a real tan?

Or can it be spray on?

@sstronaut Are you English?
@Oldanglaisadverbs I speak English
