Regardless of tonight’s score, I’m proud of the whole England squad for what they have achieved this tournament. [I Love England]

A lot of teams have really shone this year and just to be at the final is a massive achievement. We have something to talk about other than Covid and politics and I hope that if things don’t go our way the media can be adult about it and recognise the progress that’s been made in the last few years.

Not sure which would be worse to be honest.

All the doom-mongers both pre and post a loss or those who will insist they never had any doubt and become unbearably jingoistic if they win

@Picklebobble2 Well you and I have followed this squad, we know what they’ve had to overcome to be there. I hope that nothing is done so negative that would make Southgate think about moving away from the role. The 96 slate is wiped clean. He should be valued and respected for what he has done for his country, not the what ifs.

@WintaTheAngle Personally I’m quietly confident.
I think this team is capable of just about anything.
I think Southgate has an economy with words when it comes to dealing with the media.
A leftover no doubt from his playing days.
He deserves all the plaudits that come his way for the way he’s gone about getting the team where they are today and I think they are in with a good shout.
