China is on track to have 1,500 nuclear weapons by 2035, according to the Pentagon

I have said many times that the holiday season 2034-2035 will be the beginning of the end and now i realize this is why.

Why the hell does anyone need that many of those in the first place...?

@DIABLISS One missile is strategically bad, because it's too easy to take out.

Even multiples of destruction can make it more clear that another side cannot pre-emptively destroy all of one's ability to retaliate, esp. if there are different modes of attack.

But you should read up on Mutually-Assured Destruction (MAD), the long-standing notion of having so many nuclear weapons that one power can never be "taken out" by an adversary enough to NOT be able to launch a devastating retaliatory attack.

If memory serves me well, and at this moment there isn’t time to research, but the US and Russia have the ability to destroy the Earth nine times. So a China with the same capabilities only adds to the chance of this world becoming a cinder orbiting the sun.

@DIABLISS I don’t know about everyone but some of us were scarred in school doing nuclear bomb drills. And the nuns used it as a reminder that you have to remain pure because you never know when we could be bombed. Add to that Sputnik and the Cuban Missle Crisis it did seem the end times.

@SomeMichGuy i was kidnaped when i was four and they tortured beat raped and lied about me my whole life and it never stopped. i went to the police and they took me back home and called me a liar (the father was friends with the police everywhere we moved)... and then i started to contact the FBI...they told me they were just going to contact my parents and tell them what i did.

everywhere i worked and everyone i met and everywhere i lived ....they were lied to about me. and now i can't even get a job or go to school or get a loan or anything...not even friends.
