To tell you the truth. If it wasn't for Trump to become President and Kim jong UN having a dance with Trump that become a spotlight. Even if it's just a distraction for China to take that advantage...it wouldn't work because The U.S. Navy with plenty of ships were there during the time and also with Trump's and Kim's Meetings.

@FreestyleArt China has seized islands and atolls which the Philippines claimed as sovereign territory. We in a mutual defense agreement did nothing while China seized this land. The reason for us not backing the Philippines as I remember reading was because the seized land was not included in the mutual defense pact. I call bull shit on that! Under the Obama Administration.
Oh let’s not forget China on seizing these atolls told the world they were not for military purposes. They lied. The world balked. They are forward military bases.
