@Darina I just checked, the virus which caused the outbreak in Italy didvarrive from China. It genetically changed somewhat, enough to differentiate it from the "mother" virus. It came to the US as a different genetic variant. Unfortunately, closing off US borders from China did nothing to protect us from the virus coming in on US citizens travelling back from China and did nothing to protect those coming from Italy. The world knew of the Italian outbreak, but US didn't ban travel from Europe until it was too late b

Do you really think you are being funny? No one said it was from eating bats, more likely spread from bat stool from which the virus became airborne!
