@revenant Ibsen wrote about a small town in which the major industry was the local spa. The town physician, the brother of the mayor, found that people were getting sick from the spa and tried to bring attention to it. He had a fight with his brother and the town, they didn't want him to "raise a red flag" and endanger their economy. It is a classic story. You should read it, if you have the opportunity.
@samueltyler2 thank you ! I can see an analogy with China here alright and who knows what is going to happen to its economy and then worldwide , if this carries on.
@revenant The fear is that it will impact on the global economy. If they had exposed the issue earlier, it might have been able to stop the disease from impacting on such. Hopefully, once we get through this, they will have earned.
@revenant Is there a conspiracy theory that you have heard? I would suggest that is likely nonsense. There is still a recurring theory that HIV/AIDS was a CIA released virus. That seems to have finally died down. The one thing about this new virus is, that a US pharmaceutical company has already started work on a new type of vaccine which is done from DNA snippets and should require the amount of time to develop as classic vaccines, such as for influenza.
@samueltyler2 nobody really knows and there is so much stuff out there. But I got that froù a pretty serious guy who does not think corona is that dangerous. Apparently there are different types of corona virus DNA and the chinese put down a patent for a vaccine back in 1917 I think. Wuhan itself is a bit mysterious with the lab and the very first smart city with 5G. I would put the vid but it is all in French
@revenant I can read and understand French. I have heard so many conspiracy theories about diseases,and most are totally the alt-reality people. On the other hand, there are some known coverups, Chernobyl, Anthrax in Russia, they were coverups but not purposeful releases.
