Guardian He generated a serious movement of support for left wing ideas in Canada and was the right person at the right time. Think like Bernie Sanders 2016 but probably even bigger impact. He got people elected in provinces that didn't have any NDP seats at all.
And if he had not died of cancer he likely would have been PM by a landslide and one of our most popular PMs ever. He likely would have taken the party from a distant 3rd protest vote to running the country.
Now unfortunately he also illustrated our own problems in our country long term. Jagmeet Singh has nearly an identical platform, is a great speaker and passionate, principles, but alot of people can't see past the turban.
