JT has just resigned. MC was a former Bank Governor for Canada & England. Given that Canada's economy is hurting and an election is a year away. Should MC become PM, or Chyrstia Freeland or someone else?

American here. We're a republic so our rules are different than Canadas parliamentary system. It's a good question, and looking at the rules (from 2020), apparently, yes, you can be elected to lead the Liberal political party in Canada (and be PM in this example) without being a congressman.
