I live in the states, I have questions if I want to cross the border to sightsee in Canada
Do I need a passport? Are they going to search my belongings while entering or leaving?

Yes, you need a passport. There is a possibility that your belongings will be searched at the border. Usually they ask you to declare if you have any prohibited items, such as drugs, firearms, alcohol...etc., etc. They can decide whether or NOT to believe you.

You now need a passport, They changed it during Covid I believe. You probably will not be searched unless You do something or say something to make You suspect !

You can only visit US territory or Virgin Islands without a passport

@swirlie There are only 2 things I'm worried about. I take thc gummies, would probably only have one piece of that. Then also on my way back, I will more than likely have some rocks I've collected. I'm an avid rock hunter and also have a youtube channel of my adventures.
