Do you know and/or sing your country's national anthem?

Australia's one has been fudged again and I feel that it doesn't reflect the values I grew up with so I don't sing it anymore.

I've never really known the second verse.

I don't like the way it gets sung with pommie pomp and ceremony alongside 'welcome to country's.

I know lots of them - I get all sentimental about them and yes, I sing them all! Sometimes not badly.

I know it, but I don’t particularly like it. And the irony that the man who wrote the words "for the land of the free” was a notorious slave owner has never been lost on me.

Yes, ours goes "God save our gracious Queen" according to super-patriot Nadine Dorries who led the Reform UK conference in a rousing rendition on Sunday 😅
