The Queensland Supreme Court has found mandatory COVID vaccination for police officers and nurses was unlawful and in breach of their human rights.

Dozens of police officers and health workers have been vindicated in a 115-page judgement handed down on Tuesday by Justice Glenn Martin.

He found the departing Queensland Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll was unlawful under the Human Rights Act when she issued a mandatory vaccination order in December 2021.

A similar finding was made against Queensland Health Director John Wakefield – that his department’s equivalent vaccination policy was of “no effect” and paramedics couldn’t be forced to have the injection.

Today’s finding is in response to legal action taken by 74 government workers opposing vaccinations.

Finally vindication for these people who lost their jobs, their livelihood and more often than not, their social standing within the community. Kudos to these people who stood up for what is right and have fought for it.

I hope Australia learns from this wicked lesson. Hopefully Victoria is next on the chopping block. It would be nice to see Dan Andres jailed for crimes against humanity.

Aussie politics is a busted flush.
Just like America.

Both countries have no counterbalance to ridiculous extremes of their political parties mandates when in government.

The thought that there could have been covid infected people working as frontline staff potentially infecting everyone from schoolkids to cancer patients in hospitals and institutions.....because for you whether to be immunised or not should have been a choice ?

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yes,the "Chook" saw what was coming, that's why she shot through when she did.

Sad how people got threatened as a result of making a free choice
GypsyMiss · 46-50, F
@butterflybaby75 a very disgraceful page in our history books.
@GypsyMiss you think this is over? ...
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON the world elite via the un did not achieve the objectives so it'll come back
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Note what was the issue here.

It did was NOT to test the principle of vaccination.

It tested the principle of personal choice.

Let's just hope none of those who refused, or in their families, do not contract a severe, perhaps "Long", even fatal version of Covid.
Pretty sure they knew it was unlawful in first place but the attitude was that it would take years before it was judged so and as they didn't want it permanently that wasn't a problem.

The problem they have is that if they want to do it again there will be significantly more opposition although that probably won't stop them.
GypsyMiss · 46-50, F
@CheekyBadger of course they did. But due to a couple of contributing factors the leaders of our states and territories went with public opinion, and seriously, if you want to be right never trust public opinion.
@GypsyMiss Public opinion is often formed by the media which also feeds on public opinion so you get this feedback loop - so much better to reason for oneself instead of relying on mass media.
GypsyMiss · 46-50, F
@CheekyBadger absolutely!

People are delusional. The law does not foresee everything.
Mandatory vaccinations was the right call. The alternative would have been forced quarantine.
How else can you stop the outbreak of a disease you can’t cure?

I feel bad for people who still believe the vax was real. It never kept you from getting sick, it did not reduce hospitalizations, and did not stop people from dieing from the man made covid disease. It was made specifically to kill people with Comorbidities. Population reduction.

INDEED! What ever happened to the happy-go-lucky vib of Australians!? The thought police seem to have taken over........so sad...bring back the Road Warrior spirit
Northerner · 70-79, M
@mainvane Same here in the UK. Only Muslims are respected here
Northerner · 70-79, M
I hope someone is prosecuted for doing this. Glad I never took any of the vaccines.

Two local football indentities are still going through the process of loss of income and court proceedings Warren Treadrea and Deni Varnhagen here in South Australia for the same thing.
I have given up on public health measures. When the people take a dump in the streets nobody can pretend it's wrong.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Roundandroundwego That's not the fault of public health. That is the fault of those people, surely!
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
I hope the Government works out the appropriate legislative response to the court's decision, to ensure that where health is concerned, the Australian value of "looking after your mates" is compulsory.

This would overcome the selfish individualistic notions that you seem to be promoting that are so prominent in the US.

Your nonsense written above is the reason why we have whooping cough outbreaks in Australia at this point and babies dying from that preventable illness.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
Well, that's a lovely lead in for the conspiracy people:)
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Zeusdelight Doesn't take much for those twerps to invent ever dafter fantasies! :-)
What about those who died or are irrevocably damaged?
CestManan · 46-50, F
NOW they figure this sh*t out after the damage is done.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
The situation sucked all round. Sure those who stood up against it are vindicated now. But what of those who had no choice but to take it and work short staffed in appalling conditions?
@Thevy29 What about those who died or are irrevocably sick? ...

You're barking up the wrong tree here Gypsy. How arrogant of you to even suggest that front line workers have a choice to be immunized or not. If they want a choice, then perhaps they should choose to NOT be front line workers so that the rest of us don't get infected by their obtuse perception of reality during a global pandemic, ffs's.
Northerner · 70-79, M
@CestManan probably because it never existed, In the time of the so called epidemic no one had a cold or died of flu .
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Northerner I think they blew things WAY out of proportion.
I imagine once the pandemic because too much of an inconvenience, that is when the powers dropped the issue.

I remember when sanitizer and masks could NOT be found, but once that mess ended, stores could not even give them away. Bins full of them at thrift stores.
Northerner · 70-79, M
@CestManan this was an experiment in controlling the population and it worked .they brainwashed the sheep.
