As an American, I take comfort in knowing that other countries' news media can be crazy too.

An Australian news channel has apologized after broadcasting an edited picture of a female lawmaker that enlarged her breasts and exposed her midriff.

The digitally altered photograph of Victoria state lawmaker Georgie Purcell appeared in a 9News evening bulletin Monday after she criticized the local government for rejecting a ban on duck hunting.

“I endured a lot yesterday. But having my body and outfit photoshopped by a media outlet was not on my bingo card,” Purcell posted on X Tuesday, alongside the original and altered photos. [/quote]

@justanothername Yes. The biggest political news is what a d*ck head former PM Tony Abbott was. He was Conservative, Deeply Religious and blocked absolutely everything. Thank goodness that couldnt happen in America..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Sounds like a trumpanzee before Trump was ever going to try and become El Presidente. Religious twats that let their religious convictions influence their decision making are bad regardless of which side of politics they come from.

@zonavar68 Surely if one is a politician then one's religion (if any) SHOULD inform your decision-making. Sometimes politics involves moral choices and for people of religion, that can be a guidance. (And it's not the same thing as forcing one's views derived from religion on other people).

@Persephonee Indeed religion does inform political decision making in America. You really do need to watch a few Kenneth Copeland TV presentations for a primer on American Christianity.😷
