So you Americans and British dont feel like you have a monopoly on the Political corruption and in competence. Here is what the last surviving right ring (but still commie pinko woke leftist by American standards) state government is facing..

We are very willing to share the UK political corruption and incompetence. We probably exported it to both the US and Australia.

@whowasthatmaskedman That makes perfect sense. Some of the regiments in the UK had two sets of officers; one lot posed in London, swanned around Hyde Park and looked pretty. The less well off travelled with the men and did the actual fighting. I can see how the younger sons and so on would continue the skills they learned at public schools - bullying, lying, cheating, sodomy, rape and the like - when they moved far afield. Sounds a bit like the present Tory party, really.

@helensusanswift Exactly so.. Aristocracy was the worst. The eldest son was the heir, the second joined the military and the third, the Church..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman That seems about right. In Scotland the church option was less open, as the Church of Scotland was less establishment minded, so a plethora of wild young aristos infested the army/navy and various colonies.

The elections in australia should be banned .
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Max41 Yeah... About that. "The Aboriginals" is hundreds of distinct cultures, every bit as diverse as the north American first nations. And they cant even agree what it is they want. And they are going to have to send people back to every continent, since Australian can have come from anywhere to extablish here and be accepted.😷

@Max41 State governments in Australia should be banned, all Australian states effed off, and everything federalised.

@zonavar68 I look forward to your detailed justification for this argument with keen interest..😷

Yet another boring election that I have to show up to get marked off as having attended.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@zonavar68 And because of that there is every chance you will centre on one issue that offends you more than others, because you are already there anyway, and vote..And that makes our system better in my book. Because the government has to make it possible for everyone to vote.😷
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
@whowasthatmaskedman But it's not illegal to not vote - it's only illegal to not turn up and be marked off as having turned up. Voting has never been compulsory but showing up to be marked off the electoral roll is.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@zonavar68 Yes. I know that. Voting is a responsibility for us.. But we never have to wait hours or travel any real distance to do it.. My point was that once we have "turned up" most people can find something to vote for, or against, and they do.. That doesnt make our voters any smarter. But the politicians are aware everything they do can be remembered and held against them by everyone. Not just those motivated enough to vote. Because thats all of us..😷
