@SW-User I don't get what Australians find so attractive about getting drunk and rowdy.
SW-User
@Allelse I know I can’t find one thing good about it.
Eye roll.. you didn’t have a problem with it for 30 years..
now the Marxist want you to feel guilty.. you are..

Congrats 👍
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Case in point of the best argument the other side have got...but it’s the way we’ve always done it 🧓🏻
12 feb - freedom ride day (aboriginals)
13 feb - national apology day (abs)
15 mar- close the gap day (abs)
5 Apr - bring them home day (abs)
26 may- national sorry day (abs)
27 may- national referendum day (abs)
3 June MABO day ( abs)
8 July - NADOC WEEK (abs)
4 aug- Torres straight/aboriginal kids day ( abs)

But them awful evil whities can’t have one day?

Not that it was ever just for whites..
ITS AUSTRALIA day..
it included everyone..

Now you mentioned it’s a chance to get drunk burn meat and yahoo..

What’s the problem with letting your hair down. One day a year?
We can’t even have that without a side serving of guilt. Invasion day is what it’s called now..

I for one am tired of being called racist by those intent on bringing back segregation and apartheid

They should just change it to the day we had federation, idiots will still celebrate the original Australia day but fuck em.
@Allelse Yeah I agree or the day we become a republic sometime soon would be even better
Allelse · 36-40, M
Yeah you tell em!!!
Just heard an ABC series on this. Seems the world over we've treated indigenous people very poorly. Shame on us.
Amazed to learn how widespread the abuse was.
@SethGreene531 I’m glad you choose to educate yourself. If more people did that I feel we would be closer to understanding. A lot of the true history was wiped, it’s certainly not something that was taught while I was at school.
@NotladylikeAnd likewise, here as well.

History is conveniently rewritten. Easier on the conscience that way.
If there are vague references to it, it's from ministers and heads of state. The real truth is blacker and more disturbing than they dare admit.

I agree, it will take people confronting the matter head on to bring change.
Much respect to you. 🤜🏽
