When did republicanism change from

a political ideology centred on citizenship in a state and emphasise on self rule to Conservatism?

I don't think it ever did. There's very little that is "conservative" about the Republican party, and it's front runner for the President in 2024.

Ignoring the things that have developed over the last few millennia that they want to destroy or abolish, I guess they might want to conserve stuff like gun violence, lawlessness, Putin, white majorities and the like.
@MistyCee Their base voted on one issue for 40 years. ANY Republican Politician that said he would abolish Roe V Wade was voted in. Trump changed the word Abortion into Wall and they voted for Wall in 2016.

I, personally, think that the kkk/democrats are doing a great job with lawlessness. They are using the DOJ and turning this country into a totalitarian hell. If evil ever had a name it is the democratic party.

You need not worry about republicans, you will get your iron fist around the neck of this country and we will have to do what you say. Since you are so perfect and great, slime.
@MarthannBann888 Thanks for your personal thoughts as well as reminding me that that Trumpists might also want to "conserve" hyperbole, and ad hominem attacks.

Of course you want that! You certainly don't anyone to answer you. You have no answers, solutions, or good will. All you want is unopposed power.
@MarthannBann888 If I was serious about wanting unopposed power, I wouldn't be wasting my time here.

I don't know what you do, or how you really think. If you don't believe in unopposed power, you would be more honest to back someone else. To support the kkk/democrats is to be one.
@MarthannBann888 Who exactly is it that you think I'm backing so vehemently?

Honestly, I think a more valid criticism of my political posting here is that I may be overly critical of Trumpism and those who seek to profit from it without really backing anyone else solidly.

Btw, the kkk/Democrats thing is really annoying. The first Republican I ever really took an issue with was a former grand Wizard running for governor as a Republican. I voted for the crook then, for much the same reason I voted for Biden.
