Why do powerful people seem immune to consequences?

We hear all kinds of accusations concerning conduct of a political nature best described as questionable, more likely criminal. What we don’t see is a solution. I fully realize the national media will never seek to enlighten us in that regard. How can we expect to be rational in our reaction to that, where IF it was an ordinary person committing that, the handcuffs would be instant? THEN if charges are brought, a federal judge is discovered that dismisses the charges, and in one case told the FBI that it must destroy the evidence gathered. Perhaps I’m a little thick headed BUT doesn’t that sound a little fishy to you? James Comey was the recipient of that move, the former head of the FBI who’s job it was to investigate criminal activity, obtain evidence and present that evidence to a prosecutor is absolved of wrongdoing by a judge, who just happens to have been appointed by a democratic president, of course the MSM will tell us that there is nothing out of the ordinary in this proceeding. Then both Bill AND Hillary Clinton refuse to testify before Congress when subpoenaed, and so far nothing is done to them. Previously some people WERE jailed for that conduct, of course those jailed were republicans! Isn’t it amazing that the democrats escape scrutiny and republicans serve time?
Perhaps what we are witnessing is a massive crime syndicate masquerading as government? I’ll await an explanation other than that! I wish for a time when I could write about honesty in that sewer of a city. Our tax money diverted to the nefarious. Some immigrants so steeped in criminal behavior that immediately upon entering this nation they turn to theft. Of course the democratic politicians not only defend them, they call those who challenge that scenario racists and white supremacists, as if skin color had anything to do with it. No thieves are thieves no matter the outside appearance. Some Somali’s come here, refuse to learn our language, BUT somehow cook up a scheme to defraud, no steal billions, from a government so lax in oversight that it goes unnoticed. After all it’s only a few billion, beats the hell out of a federal reserve building cost over run of a billion or more. It appears that we could pay a lot less in taxes IF the theft was stopped? Imagine what California’s theft rate is! Billions spent on a high speed rail line that goes no where and no one questions why! Is the whole of government legalized theft? I live in Florida and I watch almost every county vehicle be near new, equipment bought , employees trained for functions used part time. Don’t get me started on the schools. A waste of money almost completely. Here almost everything is setup for the schools. a while ago we pulled up next to a county truck that was labeled “elder nutrition”. anything to siphon money to political hacks. If private business was run as is government, one could bet insolvency would be but 6 months away. The sad part is, it isn’t only one part of government, all of it seems corrupt! isn’t
In addition, the USA is quietly being surrounded by China, an unmistakable move intended to gain advantage If war should break out. What do our politicians worry about, men in women’s sports. The stupidity of those we elect knows no bounds. The US is in turmoil because a political party has setup a theft ring making many politicians very wealthy by screwing the American taxpayer. Then when caught, if they ever are, the judiciary steps in and absolves them of complicity. No it isn’t only the democrats! That may be why we don’t see arrests? the criminal activity is too well hidden, so connected that no-one will ever be jailed. Yet Heavily armed swat teams show up on people’s door step because they pray at abortion centers. You can’t make this stuff up it’s so bizarre. It’s stranger than fiction!

Not surprising! It has been that way since time immemorial, rich and connected individuals can get away with a lot of things. Once in awhile they get their just desserts, so, we can only hope.

Because we let them

@EBSVC
we let ourselves be treated like this

What is your thesis? That this is all there can ever be and we should accept it?

No, we shouldn't accept it. I don't accept it. This is my thesis.

@sree251 So we’re saying the same thing why do you keep arguing?

I am not arguing. I am in agreement with the fact that we are being mistreated but don't agree with your perception that "we let them".

I am actually proud of the Clintons. Comey who got his degree in agriculture is displaying his lack in the knowledge of the law. They ignored a congressional subpoena from a republican committee trying to cover for trump, who is all over the epstein files. Now if they want to convict them of being in contempt of congress. There is a process of “discovery” that will get the other 99% of the epstein files out from under that haunch of the DOJ.
I see it primarily a fault of donnie and his ability to violate law so much that he gained the ability to escape prosecution if “done on the job” from a Supreme Court whose members were clearly manipulated by the now lame Senator McConnell!

It's a shame but I just don't see the Clinton's, Obama's or Biden's having to answer for any of their crimes.
