When I was trying to understand the conservative perspective, I used to watch shows like

These times that we are in are such a challenge for me. You know that I tend right-of-center. And I only know this because of the MANY political surveys I've taken that seek to tell you where you lie on the left-right spectrum.

Locally here in Massachusetts, I have voted for more than a few Republican candidates. But I feel the need to add that these were "Massachusetts Republicans" and not "National Republicans" (there is a very significant difference). Since I turned 18 and could vote, I've had only one choice at the top of the Republican national ticket and I have not been able to bring myself to vote for him. Three times I've seen his name on the ballot before me and three times I've held my nose and gone with the third party candidate.

So, to your point: "MAGA is hard to justify" ... I am just as bewildered as you. 🤷‍♀

As a Blue Bloods fan of long standing I can see where you are coming from. Conservative views, but tolerant of others and accepting responsibility for your actions..And a weather eye on fairness and doing the right thing when its hard..Thats my kind of Republican..😷

As Ronald Reagan, Jr. stated, his father would be very disappointed in today's Republican party.
This isn't the party of conservative-minded Republicans of that era, who I respected even though my own views were somewhat less conservative.

I'd say it's impossible to justify. It has no redeeming features that I can see.

MAGA people may call themselves conservative, but they couldn't be more wrong. They're radicals who want to undermine our institutions and destroy the progress the US has made over the last 50 to 100 years.

I too keep trying to understand their perspective.... :(
