When does naivete cross over into stupidity?

She's a queer conservative who believed that "gay marriage is a dead issue and Republicans are moving on."

How the f-ck do "conservatives" "move on," and remain conservative, much less reactionaries like those who call themselves conservatives these days and endorse orginalism?

She sounds to me like a misfit, who found common ground with other misfits in Trumpland, only to supsect at some point, she was just another mark.

Honestly, I figured they wouldn't try and go back for it whenever Trump ran in 2016 claiming to be pro-LGBT. Can't tell if it was just my own childlike foolishness, but the homophobia really seemed to die down around that time.

@BlueVeins Homophobia itself isn't popular, but transphobia is and it's led to a resurgence in anti-LGBT sentiment overall. Anti-LGBT rhetoric now is mostly focused on trans kids and drag shows.

Trump marginalized so many. How can a veteran support a man that spoke of heroes, both living and fallen, the way he did.
Or women...in general.
"My blacks".
"Rapists and murderers"
Still many of these people still, right now, support him.
There is a lesbian couple my brother in law did some work for.
They flew their trump 2020 flag, loud and proud.
He was baffled.

🙄 what a load of crap . Is this the new race card? Or should we say gay card? Do you libs ever stop with the lame accusations and devisive narratives? Remember, you guys don’t even know what a woman is and call mothers “ birth givers” 🤦🏻‍♀️
@Carissimi Sorry. I'm not trying to be a jerk.

Historically, the requirements for a marriage (usually "little" stuff like age or the number of witnesses) can vary state by state. For example, it might not be legal for a 14 year old to marry in one state, but if she gets married in a state where it is legal and moves, the other state may be bound to recognize the marriage.

It actually comes up more often than you'd think when it comes to property and kids rights.

Thank you for the clarification.

This is why if it does go back to the States, it’s my opinion that marriages already in existence should still be legal, like “grandfathering,” if those states decide to make gay marriage illegal. I think a better way is to allow legal civil unions. This way the Conservatives and Christians keep marriage to one man and one woman, and gays can have civil unions. Then both sides get something. That’s the best compromise I can think of. @MistyCee

@Carissimi I agree.
Carissimi · F
I don’t know what you are talking about. You don’t make sense.
@Carissimi being gay is woke by definition. Gay isn't normal and it's the left that is trying to normalize it and force it into schools.

Evangelical conservatives don't agree with homosexuality

You might have some atheistic conservatives who don't care about gay marriage but they are amoral and allow this moral depravity to increase and grow.

Established families can stay together, but there's no reason as to why gay marriages from today onwards should be allowed to happen
Carissimi · F
And that was my point. Grandfathering already established gay marriages.

As to you calling conservatives amoral for holding different views from you, I find conservative Christians who oppose gay marriage: 1: within their right and beliefs to do so. 2: conservative Christians who would tear families apart, and then call other conservatives amoral for not wanting to cause harm to the family are extremist, in my opinion.

Being gay is not the same as being Woke. Many straight people are Woke. You sound like the kind of Christian who is all fire and brimstone rather than compassion and forgiveness. You are entitled to your opinion, but I find your lack of empathy very unChristian like. @Stargazer89
@Carissimi yes, lots of straight people are woke too because they push homosexuality. They are just as mislead and confused as people in fruit loop circles

It's right in the Bible that homosexuality is an abomination onto God. No debate there.

Although I said existing marriages can stay together, I'm unsure of if it is worth it. We already agreed that these marriage are used to indoctrinate kids into LGBTQ bs so I don't know and am on the fence

People like that are unbelievably stupid and really have no understanding of history. People from that demographic and many others(LGBTQ, women, racial minorities) have no place within the conservative movement, which is all about 'traditional values.' If they knew anything about the history of conservatives, they'd realize that.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
It's called the 14th Amendment equal protection clause.

The Constitution guarantees that gay people can be just as miserable as heterosexual people in marriage.

Your friend is correct.
@HoraceGreenley Lol. Whether she's right or wrong, I think it's pretty foolish to think that today's Republican party will embrace same sex marriage comfortably.

@MistyCee You'd be surprised
