When does naivete cross over into stupidity?

She's a queer conservative who believed that "gay marriage is a dead issue and Republicans are moving on."

How the f-ck do "conservatives" "move on," and remain conservative, much less reactionaries like those who call themselves conservatives these days and endorse orginalism?

She sounds to me like a misfit, who found common ground with other misfits in Trumpland, only to supsect at some point, she was just another mark.

🙄 what a load of crap . Is this the new race card? Or should we say gay card? Do you libs ever stop with the lame accusations and devisive narratives? Remember, you guys don’t even know what a woman is and call mothers “ birth givers” 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t even understand what she’s saying. @TexChik

@Carissimi He’s trying to say that a gay republican now says that she was lied to about gay marriage while trying to throw shade on Trump by citing a liberal rag with no journalistic conscience or ethics . Basically just propaganda .

As far as I know, conservatives have moved on. Gay marriage is a done deal, so yeah, it sounds like Leftist propaganda. I only half listen to the Woke because they speak nonsense most of the time. @TexChik

@Carissimi the Supreme Court is looking at reviewing the ruling allowing it . Like abortion, that power likely belongs to the states
@TexChik Thanks for explaining that.

I thought that was just Justice Thomas. I have no problem with it going back to the States, but anyone who is married under this law should be allowed to stay married, especially if they have children. Whether people support gay marriage or not, to invalidate legal marriages (as they stand today) would not only be horribly disruptive for gay families, but would be cruel. In my opinion, if you let the horse bolt, then it’s to late to close the barn door. @TexChik
@Carissimi FWIW, that makes sense to me, but I don't think it will be just Thomas forever or that the issue will be easily left to the States.

There's a full faith and credit issue with respect to marriages between states that has always been a bit thorny, even before the Supreme Court weighed in.

Do you speak in legalese because I find your style of writing hard to decipher? Marriages between the States sounds like States are marrying each other. I know that’s not what you mean, but this grammar is confounding me. @MistyCee
@Carissimi Sorry. I'm not trying to be a jerk.

Historically, the requirements for a marriage (usually "little" stuff like age or the number of witnesses) can vary state by state. For example, it might not be legal for a 14 year old to marry in one state, but if she gets married in a state where it is legal and moves, the other state may be bound to recognize the marriage.

It actually comes up more often than you'd think when it comes to property and kids rights.

Thank you for the clarification.

This is why if it does go back to the States, it’s my opinion that marriages already in existence should still be legal, like “grandfathering,” if those states decide to make gay marriage illegal. I think a better way is to allow legal civil unions. This way the Conservatives and Christians keep marriage to one man and one woman, and gays can have civil unions. Then both sides get something. That’s the best compromise I can think of. @MistyCee

@Carissimi I agree.
