I'm the type who always has a book in her bag 馃馃摉馃憸
And y'all...this book is so good.
I really don't want to put it down, but I have had so much to do (with packing and all), I haven't progressed with it as fast as I normally would have.
It's about a Count in Russia 馃嚪馃嚭 in the 1920s who is sentenced to house arrest in a small room in the Metropol Hotel. He is only allowed to the hotel restaurant to dine. He is not allowed outside. His crime? Writing and publishing a poem that the Bolshevik tribunal found "offensive" (because it implied dissent against the tyranny).
The language is so poetic, and the descriptions are so colorful I actually can see all of the Russian Red Square in my mind. I love this book!!! 馃榾
