Okay i just read the bill and its disturbing.
It says governmental entities must identify individuals as either male or female when collecting vital statistics, even for purposes like antidiscrimination laws, public health, crime, or economic analysis.
This tells me that they do not care about trans people. They are going to put them in prisons where they were assigned at birth and that can be dangerous and life threatening. Also, if they report a hate crime they can turn around and say it wasn't hate because on paper you are as an example male. So in other words if i were a trans female and i reported that a man punched or choked me they could turn around and say well its not a hate crime because you are both men?

@TryingtoLava its just evil af. People of legal age should be able to express themselves and be who they are without judgment.
@AngelUnforgiven remember the #metoo movement? Wtf happened we had so so so much momentum and since RvW got overturned its been downhill to THIS

@TryingtoLava idk but its sad where we've ended up

@AngelUnforgiven says
(1) DNA: Some people are born with XXY chromosomes; a full complement of both male and female chromosomes. Thus, DNA yields more than two categories (we also see XXXY and X0, for a total of five categories).
(2) Sex organs: We have observed human phenotypes with a range from no functioning sex organs to varying amounts of male & female sex organs on the same individual (these are often called intersex). Genetic mosaicism or chimerism is where the X and Y chromosomes are expressed differently (from the most common expression) on different parts of the body (these phenotypes are also often described as intersex and sometimes hermaphrodite). I don't know how many different phenotypes are out there, but more than two.
(3) Endocrine levels: chiefly testosterone and estrogen but also others. For a while, the International Olympic Committee tried to use hormone tests to allow or bar potential athletes (on the theory that it indicated hormone injections). And they found that the natural person-to-person variations in hormone levels made the system unworkable. Not every athlete fell into the expected two distinct groups.

Long story short, Texas is denying basic human biology here!

This tells me they don't even care about the basic facts of human biology! There are three different biological ways of trying to identify a person's sex, and NONE of them can classify all people into just two categories.(1) DNA: Some people are born with XXY chromosomes; a full complement of both male and female chromosomes. Thus, DNA yields more than two categories (we also see XXXY and X0, for a total of five categories).

@TryingtoLava It's not as bad as all that. #MeToo has made huge strides raising awareness and challenging silence around sexual misconduct, but transforming culture and systems is a slow, ongoing process. There are still loads of activists and organizations continuing to push forward, aiming for deeper, more inclusive, and lasting reforms.🤗

@ElwoodBlues to me its just body autonomy, every person over the age of 21 should have the right to make informed decisions about their own bodies, however they choose to. its no different than forking (splitting) your tongue or having bone grafted on your forehead to look like horns. Or tattooing your eyeballs. You weren't born that way. So whats the difference? How is that accepted by society but not trans people? They deserve to live & exist just like everyone else.

@iamthe99 Sadly, MAGA is working just as hard to reverse those social gains. We now have some of those predators in government, when they should be in prison. 😞
