Pray for Texas

Please pray for the state of Texas. For the families whose precious children were murdered. For the families of the 2 teachers. For the first responders. For the kids whose lives will remain forever changed. For the medical personnel that are treating more innocent victims of this heinous crime that was commited by a punk. An evil POS that posted on Instagram a couple of hours before "kids be scared."
Now it's your turn to be scared Salvador Ramos. You paved your way to Hell. May your journey be swift.

[c=BF0080]There are so many sick b*stards out there. I hate this. I wish they’d train teachers to use a gun and have a finger print thing so it’d be safe there and ready for an emergency. [/c]
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
@SW-User that sign is awesome and I hope they are properly trained!!
SW-User
@Bill1372 their ctiminal history is investigated and have psychological testing. They have 60 hours of gun training
and have additional training 3 times a year. They are volunteers and nobody knows which teachers or faculty is armed.
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
@SW-User ingenious!!
I'm also praying for swift passage of strict gun laws so we can prevent the NEXT mass school shooting.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues let's say you banned all guns tomorrow... would that prevent mass shootings? how?
@boudinMan
let's say you banned all guns tomorrow
NO! I never said anything about "ban all guns." That's the lying strawman you guys always bring up!! I said "swift passage of strict gun laws." Please leave your straw man fallacies home; they have no place here.

How would strict gun laws work? Ask Britain & Europe - mass killings are VERY rare there. Ask Australia - their gun laws after a 1996 mass shooting greatly reduced gun violence:
Results: In the 18 years before the gun law reforms, there were 13 mass shootings in Australia, and none in the 10.5 years afterwards. Declines in firearm-related deaths before the law reforms accelerated after the reforms for total firearm deaths (p=0.04), firearm suicides (p=0.007) and firearm homicides (p=0.15), but not for the smallest category of unintentional firearm deaths, which increased. No evidence of substitution effect for suicides or homicides was observed. The rates per 100 000 of total firearm deaths, firearm homicides and firearm suicides all at least doubled their existing rates of decline after the revised gun laws.
@ElwoodBlues it's not a lie at all, it's a hypothetical question. yes, you said 'swift passage of strict gun laws'... what could be more strict than banning guns altogether?
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
And praying will help how's exactly?

Every time there's a school shooting it's our thoughts and prayers are with you.... And it fits absolutely nothing to stop the next one occurring.

The lives of your children are the cost you are willing to put up with!
SW-User
@ozgirl512 evidently you dont know how to read. I never said that praying would stop school shootings.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@SW-User Praying doesn't stop school shootings, real action does. That is what is scary about America, the mixture of religion & guns & violence.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@SW-User i can read quite well thanks ... But rather than waste time on prayers. Why not do something positive to end this stupidity?
And btw. I never did accuse you of saying prayers would stop the shootings... My question was. How are prayers going to help?

Cheers

Montanaman · M
@badminton what laws would you vote to enact that aren't already in place?
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Well it looks like MellyMel22 blocked me. Typical American.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@LookingForTheSummer I actually have no problem with her, we have chatted many times before and I always liked her, I'm sad she blocked me.

What is appalling is how normalized all this is and the idea that we need more guns in the hands of people like teachers and clergy is so crazy and ridiculous in this twisted world and I do take issue that I saw that she mocked me for not being American is ludicrious.
SW-User
@JimboSaturn @LookingForTheSummer look everyone is entitled to voice their opinion. You dont have to agree wirh them. But that doesnt mean that its dumb or idiotic. If you had kids in a schooll where there was no law enforcement or the cops were easily 20 minutes away so then what? Too bad so sad. Its not a dumb idea .She is a friend of mine and i take offense to you calling her names.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@SW-User I didn't call her any names. I simply think its a sad state of affairs when teachers have to have gun handling on their CV.
SW-User
I think the shooter took his own life, two of the injured officers could succumb to their injuries. Matthew McConaghy is devastated because that is the area that he is from. So, yes endless prayers and support for them
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@SW-User born and raised. Very familiar with Uvalde. I’ve spent a lot of time hunting on ranches around there.
SW-User
@JesseInTX I have never been to Texas but hope to visit some day. It is truly an amazing state
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@SW-User it really is. Can’t see myself living anywhere else. I love traveling and visiting other states, but Texas is home. Hope you get to experience it one day.

Mental illness...bail reform and a f'n demon problem...just to name a few!!
Good people with 🔫 to deter bad people with 🔫
Viper · M
May his journey be rough and bumpy as hell!

Why the hell go after elementary school kids? It just makes no sense...
SW-User
@Viper thats what chicken shits do. They attack the innocent and people who cant stand up to them.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@SW-User Some of the kids are unidentifiable because they were shot so severely.
SW-User
@JimboSaturn because they were 9 and 10 year olds, where they were shot, and the kind of weapon used. And thats why i called him an evil POS cuz thats exactly what he was. May he rot in Hell.
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
I'm with you till the part about damning the murderer to hell. There is something wrong with US society as a whole that leads to blood baths like this one.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I live in Australia and we as a nation are horrified at this shooting 🔫? I have no idea how to resolve this issue
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@nedkelly The Deep State is panicking because they are going down and they are pulling out all stops. Their goal
Is to disarm American citizens so they can bring us under a one world government
Jamesy · 36-40, M
Its totally despicable and sinister. For a kid to have so much hate
I already have today and will again... ...
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
I already did last night 🙏😢😞

Fact is, there are more guns in your country than there is people. Gun restrictions will never happen. Unfortunately, it will be an ongoing thing. Peoples' minds have to change and that would be impossible. I just saw a video on YouTube about gun lobbyists....they are militant when it comes to gun ownership. They would rather die than lose that right. That convinced me enough.
