NYC residents, can you help me with something?

Technically the five burroughs are considered NYC, right? So does your address reflect that, or does your address list the name of the burrough (Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, etc) as your city? 🤔

Example: would it be

John Smith
12345 Main St
New York City, NY

Or would it be

John Smith
12345 Main St
Bronx, NY

My step daughter is at college in NY now. It follows this format:

John Smith
12345 Main St
Bronx, NY

I think the standard is “New York, NY” for any of the boroughs. It isn’t typical (or really correct) to write “New York City, NY”.
