Isn’t the name “New York” weird when you think about it? It’s the city of York in England, but new😂
Also, York is a pretty insignificant city, you would think they’d name it New London or new Paris…

The royal centre of the kingdom of Northumbria . . capital of an archbishopric and alternative residence of English kings for about 300 years . . probably the fifth most prosperous city in England when America was being colonised. I guess someone must have liked it . .
