I truly believe we have grown far too tolerant of murder. I get sick when I hear someone killed a twenty year old and got sentenced to ten years in prison. At the very LEAST the sentence should be at least the number of years they stole from their victim, by life expectancy tables.

@hippyjoe1955 no this is not rhetorical and I'm seriously at a loss to understand the high numbers of lost lives YTD.

We hear so many reasons put forward by so called experttw.

@pennynoodles I just feel so sorry for those families , parents and loved ones who get that awful knock on the door. One death is too many and if it continues to be an every day occurance the urgency for society to intervene will be lost.

Not sure about the absent fathers bit. Peer group pressure provides role models but sadly they're all negative ones. The culture of knife crime has been there for at least thirty years now.

@Mikemcneil I don't recall our youth going out with a blade as a matter of routine. If we wanted a scrap we fought with our fists.

@Ironicman there were knives carried in my neck of the woods at school but few and far between. It's not a white male problem.

@MethDozer three months in London and less people murdered than in ten minutes in Vegas....
