Witnessed a real Florida Man encounter today

So I stepped out to run a couple errands during lunch today...

I stopped at intersection to make a left turn. Light was red and there was a black minivan in front of me. Some guy sprints out into the crosswalk and stops right in front of minivan. He proceeds to run up its hood and windshield and onto the roof. He lays down flat and grabs the cargo rack. When the light turns the green, the minivan doesn't move. The guy starts slapping on the roof to get it to go. After a few seconds, realizing this thing isn't going, he slides back down the front of it and goes to the driver window and starts pounding it with his fist. The minivan tries to go now but the guy runs back in front of it to start climbing again and the minivan stops again. The guy now goes to the passenger window and starts pounding it with his fist. Minivan tries to go again, guy runs back in front. The minivan is now halfway into the intersection and the light is red again. Guy goes back to pounding on passenger side window for another 20 seconds as traffic navigates around this obstacle. I'm debating calling 911 as I'm still at the light behind this. But then the guy just finally runs off. It was so wild.

That's a perfect example of why you need to keep pepper spray in your car.

@thisguy20 You don't have to get that close with good pepper spray.

@Nitedoc That's true, but I wonder if pepper spray be sufficient to stop Flori-duh Man

@thisguy20 Yes it would! I've carried it for over 30 yrs. and used it a couple of times. It stops people like Florida man in their tracks and they usually just fall to ground and stay down around 30min. or so. I use police issue Punch II brand. It shoots out a thick cone shaped blast well covering someone face at 10-15 ft. In a heavy wind you need to be closer maybe just out of their reach.
