Does anyone know if the dmv does any kind of payment plans?? I am struggling BIG TIME. Lost my job about 2 almost 3 months ago and have been struggling to get a job offer…interview after interview after interview…..no job. I have a few leads and others that I’m waiting to hear back from currently, but it’s crushing me. I’ve been doordashing to make rent and was able to make April but my dmv fees are almost the same amount if not more due to other factors and things….it’s the most disappointing and low I’ve been. I know the govt won’t care about my life story but I genuinely do not have that money right now. At least not all in full until I get a job….waiting to hear back and hopefully I get good news soon…but even then it takes time to get that first check. I am on the verge of giving up because I’m driving around to deliver food while risking getting pulled over. I’m damned if I do, damned if I don’t…..any help is appreciated. Not asking for money. Just asking for advice!!
What are your talents, skills and qualifications?
What kinds of jobs have you been doing since you left school?
Are there particular jobs which are in high demand in your area? Would any of these be possible for you?
Does the govt have any programs for providing support while you retrain?
Are there any scholarships for people who are disadvantaged but highly motivated and willing?

I've heard of some people doing well by buying an insulated bag, filling it with icecreams and walking along a hot beach selling them.

I imagine there would be casual jobs you could do for cash to eke things out: gardening, cleaning, waitering in a coffee shop, etc, even baby-sitting or dog-washing or walking.
If you're a reliable person and can get good references, it's possible to house-mind for people who are overseas for several months at a time. Usually they prefer middle aged women - but anyone who's honest and reliable is in hot demand. You find them more in wealthier areas - loads of those in California. Can include petcare. Once you get a reputation for being good at it, you can establish a regular clientele and circulate through the same four to six houses every year. That could solve the rent and utilities problems, leaving you with just the job situation to work out.

I'm almost 100 percent sure that when you pay you're provided options to spread the payments out over time. I think they use Affirm and maybe another company. So you can break fees down in to more affordable chunks. Not sure if there's interest but, if so, I wouldn't imagine that it would be high. Good luck.

I'm not aware of such a program, but it might be worth contacting them and finding out for certain. I believe there are some programs to help those in need. Maybe you can get emergency rent or food assistance or something.

See if you can apply for a hardship and/or. Food stamps. The state does have policies to help people in financial hardships.

I don't think so. Can you dash a little more to make up the difference? Maybe when you pay taxes you can write it off as a business expense.
