The British Museum, especially the Egyptian collection.

I was especially impressed by a small mausoleum built by a grieving husband for his deceased wife.

There was a moving inscription that translated with words to the effect, "If you can hear me, O Beloved, tell the Lords of Eternity that your husband longs for you, and wishes to be with you, wheresoever you may be."

Very busy 24hrs a day, very diverse ethnic mix, good public transport (compared to most of the rest of the UK), vibrant, great for culture of all sorts.

Glad I don't live there, but pleased to visit occasionally.
