Since the time of Jesus ( some two thousand years ago) Why hasn't there been another prophet as profound as Jesus. Has the temptations and sins of man

not evolved.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Jesus is God. There can be no other 'prophet' as profound as He. No there has been no great evolution in the sins of man. When man refused to recognize God God gave them over to a depraved mind. Sexual sin remains sexual sin and you will find an exhaustive list of such sin in the New Testament along with all the other sins of idolatry and greed.

@hippyjoe1955 Have you watched PornHub? Sexual sin has changed since the Babylonians.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Lostpoet I don't watch porn but there is nothing new on the sex front that hasn't been known for eons.

@Diotrephes "Whoever comes to me and hate not his father, ..."

Maybe you had the wrong translation.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@Lostpoet You have a choice of 52 versions; they all mean the same = https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=luke+14%3A26&version=NKJV
Lostpoet · M
@Diotrephes Yeah, it says hate not.
calicuz · 51-55, M
Ok, I'll give it a shot.
Full disclosure: I have rejected organized religion and only seek out the God who created the Universe.

You ask a very good question, because the scriptures show that God kept sending profits yet there are no profits today.
The scriptures never mention that Christ was the last prophet, only the last sacrifice, so where are the profits.
Many believe, or would have you believe, that "Christianity" began at the resurrection and "The Church" was created by one, if not all, of the Disciples. "The Catholic Church" was the first Christian Church, but was created about 50 to 100 years after the death of Christ and it was not the religion we have today.
TheOrionbeltseeker · 36-40, M
Probably scriptures at present are still as relevant as they were back then. His words are alive.
Lostpoet · M
@TheOrionbeltseeker I think people and the things that plague us have changed a lot since then.
TheOrionbeltseeker · 36-40, M
@Lostpoet Jesus was not here to kill the evil people but to give his words to the people. Now, that they are here, it's us, who with the help of holy Spirit will know the difference.

There will be second coming of Christ, when, don't kmow but it is written. There shall be no proof provided to this generation, I think.

Perhaps that god has lost his power.

@Ceinwyn In ancient times, everyone and his brother was a god. It is hilarious that supposedly intelligent people believe silly ethnocentric Middle Eastern Jewish and Arabian religious fairytales simply because they were written down and used the word "god" in them.
popmol · 22-25, M
because they aren't trendy and popular on websites like twitter
I have the feeling that those in the prophet pool are saying, "We laid it out. I don't know what else to tell them."
Lostpoet · M
@Mamapolo2016 I think we have different problems then we had thousands of years ago.
@Lostpoet I don't.
pentacorn · F
even as the world loses it's religion, our instincts remain intact. the golden age of mythology has passed.
Lemony1199 · F
What other religion books beside bibles did you read?
Lostpoet · M
@Lemony1199 The book of Mormon. I've read many books on religion, but that religion is usually through the Christian view point. I've read some stuff on Eastern philosophy and religion like Buddha's teachings and stuff like that. I think Jesus, Buddha, Confucius, Richard Feynman are all people to follow and look up to.
Lemony1199 · F
@Lostpoet You should extended your reading.

We commit them to psych holds and pickle their brains with pacifying pharmaceuticals.
