Jesus said the love of money is the root of all evil. Christians say, "God put wealth on earth for his people." Jesus said sell all your possessions &

Give to the poor. But Christians say, "Those people just want a hand out. Let them get a job and work for it."

You should follow the commandments of Christ if you call yourself a Christian. Otherwise you should find a new religion or drop religion altogether.

I'm not a religious person, and I no longer follow any organized religion, but The Bible also says to "feed the hungry and clothe the naked"
You are correct in pointing out that people like to pic and chose which parts of the Bible they want to follow, and when it goes against what they want, they interpret the scriptures to fit their needs.
This is kinda why I no longer participate in any type organized religion.

there is also something about those who don’t work won’t eat. Lazy asses who turn their nose up at jobs where they can make their lunch money ought to get good & hungry enough to work. I’m not talking about someone with legitimate needs.
@cherokeepatti Very true!

@RocktheHouse I’ve worked jobs where I would come home and cry because I was in pain with my back and I can’t take painkillers. Then someone walks up to me wanting me to give them part of my Social Security $ for “Food” when there are several food kitchens that won’t turn down anyone not to mention food pantries all over this city, and a long list of other help. It’s getting really old and tired with me when they walk up with their bullshit line to try to extract cash from me.

@RocktheHouse It is the churches here that sponsor the meals at the food kitchens for the poor and homeless and the churches have free clothing for them, free bikes if they want to get a job, they help them with furnishings for temporary housing too. So don’t say Christians are not helping these people. It’s to the point that police are making arrests at the meal kitchens due to violence, threats, public drunk or drug usage and other such crimes. Some of these people have drowned in water puddles and other shallow water. Also a sizable meth camp in the city where they live in the woods and spend the day panhandling or seeing what they can steal out of cars, yards, and residential shed.
Of all kinds of evil, not evil.
I know it sounds petty, but there is a great difference.

Oh, and it was Paul.

Do you follow all of Christs commandments? Or do you, like most, fall short of perfection.
@nonsensiclesnail "most"? All have sinned and fall short
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP except one, so yes. Most.
I know, right? They call themselves Christians, but they don't follow the commands in the bible. Bunch of cherry pickers.
