@Miram I can see how Jesus represents the defeated good. But it feels more like a defeat born from within. The disregard for others. Hatred of certain types of others. Corruption of authorities. Corruption of entire branches of the faith. These are not things done by a brutal, ruthless opponent but rather through the soft acceptance of wickedness from within.
