Do you believe that the entity humans call 'god' is a male or female? Why?

My view - god cannot be either male or female in any psuedo-humanlike sense because the 'thing' religious people call 'god' is (like religion) a man-made concept used to 'explain' that which cannot be explain by science, reason and critical thinking.

Care and love and all the things religion ascribes to 'god' as the anti-thesis of the 'anti-god' are instinctively ring-fenced by the view that there is hard defining like between 'good' and 'not good' (which religious people call 'evil'). That doesn't make sense in the real world in which we live.

I don't expect you to agree with my view - that's what being truly open-minded is about.

George Carlin said that god has to be male. Because no woman would screw things up so much.
I don't believe in the Judeo Christian conception of God.

That being said I am a polytheist.

God might be considered a "he" because he sent his son Jesus to earth as a man (I'm not religious, just making the point). The Holy Trinity means that God is three things in one - the spirit, the son, and God (it's why the three leaved shamrock is Catholic Ireland's national symbol - three leaves on one flower). However, God isn't human, so people are effectively using preferred pronouns to describe God, which is an argument thrown at Christian Nationalists, who think using preferred pronouns in the trans community is a sign of their mental illness.

@Softy1 it can only be an error in subsequent translation or a mistake in the original text because God supposedly exists outside of time and space and is omnipotent, which precludes him being male or of any recognised gender. Such an example shows the myriad problems when it comes to interpreting Biblical texts.

@Richard65 The concept of Jesus is false as there is no evidence to suggest a human form can possess all the knowledge of the universe in one place in time and space. Remember religion and god are man-made concepts to explain all that science cannot explain.
Gods or spirits or whatever you want to call them are beyond the concept of gender. Both gender and biological sex only makes sense in terms of a physical reality. A binary system is useful for reproduction, and nothing more.

@ItsMeMorgue I understand what you’re saying. We wouldn’t have any of these gender issues if we was like some frogs that have both sexes and can reproduce by itself.
